A Meta SEO Experiment

I know how to grow sites in my sleep. Now, I want to grow my own. I am following all the best practices – getting backlinks from reputable sites (hi Princeton.edu), blogging like a maniac (10+ times per month) against winnable long-tail keywords, etc etc.

But I have a HACK. I have an email list with 7,000 brands on it. I just emailed them to get them to:

1. Google my name, “James Cole”.

2. Click my site (currently in slot 11 – second page for most people).

3. Navigate through my site and to this blog post.

4. Find THIS CODE: SEO-CONSULT-HACK

5. Email me the code.

6. Get a free 30 minute SEO consultation.

The resulting traffic will train Google that this site (jamescole.co) is what people want to read when they Google “James Cole”. It will boost me 2-4 positions in the next month depending on how many people participate.
