What Should Content Cost in 2020

In the past month, I have spoken to over 50 of the top photographers on our platform, The Hub. Many topics were discussed but none more than The Cost of Content in 2020 and the Value of the Photographer. Many creators from our community feel that brands have lost the script and have no idea how to price a shoot. More, they lack the understanding of why a prototypical food shoot must cost more than $750 (not $250 as our competitor Soona would have you believe).

Two years ago I wrote THIS article on “The Slow Content Movement” – why The Hub is deadly focused on creating quality content above all else. I saw this depreciation of quality coming in our industry. I intended then and continue to aspire now to build a moat around what I feel we have built – a tight army of the highest quality creators on the planet.

I asked one of our top creators, William Callan to speak with me on the topic to pick his brain and get a photographer’s perspective. William is highly accomplished and educated on the space. He has shot Morgan Freeman, Katie Perry and for countless food brands. We’d love to know what you think of our dialogue.
